Public knowledge is the best way to get the results needed in any query. It was by accident that I found these little gold mines searching the web for advice on a topic I knew nothing about. I fell into a message board/forum and realized how much time I could save when searching for something on the Internet. Internet forums had the same objective of discussion on various topics when they were started. But now they are also good and effective marketing channels. Everyday the web is taking on new forms by the popularity of sites such as MySpace,YouTube, and Facebook. The industry is now $7 billion a year and growing at a rapid rate, market size is now in excess of 1 billion people.

Forums commonly referred to as message boards, discussion groups and bulletin boards. They are a web application for holding discussions and posting user generated content. If you need help or advice you can almost guarantee there will be a board about the specific topic area where you will be able to contribute to the discussion and find out exactly what you need. When we do search for any thing there seems to be millions of options available sometimes billions, this can be very overwhelming and confusing when deciding which is the correct answer to a particular questions that you might be looking for.
Lets say that you are interested in buying a pair of binoculars, your familiar with some of brands but other than that nothing else. Sure you could look up "Bushnell" and would probably get back one sided information on "their" product. But lets say you went into a forum that discusses binoculars, the best, worst, cheapest etc. You would get info back from the pros on this topic along with the average Joe. I have found this a wonderful way of finding help. I have also met quite few pretty cool people who I would call friends.

This way of researching and finding topic related material is awesome. I want to encourage those who have not experienced these forums to give them a try. For those of you starting out in the world of web based jobs, I have learned to implement forums and message boards in this area as well.
