How will I get to know my competitors tricks to success?

Guys...I am starting an new online business on Children's e-tailor (site under construction). So before I jump into launching my site, I want to make full competitor's analysis. How will I do that? How will I know about my competitors better? What are the ways, tools and other required stuffs to do that? I really hope to hear from you

Well, if you want to know about the keywords of your competitor, create big list of keywords and run position check with some SEO software and see where they are.

There are other tools available that provides a list of keywords that drive traffic to a given site. These are mainly competitive intelligence tools including: comscore, hitwise and trellian.
